The 16-year old Pinay pride will perform alongside the Top 10 contestants of the 11th season of "Idol," including current titleholder Phillip Phillips. Phillips, who had recently undergone surgery for his kidney stones "will be ready for the 'Idol' tour kick-off," according to his publicist.

The Philippines is the only country outside of North America that is included in the two-month tour, and is slated to be the finale show of the "Idol" finalists. Last year, the Top 10 contestants of the 10th season of "Idol" visited the country for a two-night concert. Their tour stop in Manila was the finale show of their concert series.

President Benigno Aquino III and Filipina-Mexican "American Idol" runner-up Jessica Sanchez met in Los Angeles, California on Friday (Saturday in Manila) before returning to Manila from his US trip.

Aquino, after his dialogue with members of the Filipino community in Los Angeles, met Sanchez along with members of her family. The meeting was set as a part of the Los Angeles leg of the president's official state visit to the United States. Moments after the meeting, Sanchez posted on micro-blogging site Twitter: "Heading back, that was an honor :)"

After her runner-up finish on the reality singing competition, MalacaƱang had expressed its support for the Pinay pride, saying that "throughout her long, arduous journey, people considered Ms. Sanchez a performer imbued with an extraordinary gift of music and heart." It added that Sanchez's "American Idol" stint was only the beginning of a great career for the 16-year-old singer.

Sanchez earlier expressed her gratitude for the support of the Philippine government, saying, "Thank you so much for all the support, hopefully I can meet you [Aquino] soon." Sanchez is set to sing the American national anthem at the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley bout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday (Sunday in Manila)
