What do you think about Corona Testimony?

He is not telling the truth, I can say.
I believe his statements. Convincing.
I don't care.

Corona obviously used the platform to express the same thoughts we already knew then from his previous repetitive (and may I add tiring and whining) statements with the media. He had no intentions to be tried, but rather merely to win the court of public opinion. After this incident, who would want such a man to hold the highest position in court? Utter disrespect and immaturity shown against the court by someone who claims to protect it. Even his parting shot could very well be in the "script," which he had at his disposal while on the witness stand. I'm sick to my stomach than Corona really is for his antics.

Corona's PowerPoint presentation actually confirmed what Ombudsman Morales told the impeachment court.

Ombudsman Morales never, and I repeat, never said that Corona has 82 accounts existing all at the same time.  She said that all in all, Corona had 82 accounts over the period 2003 to 2011.

What did Corona do yesterday?

1.  Corona did not dispute the number of accounts opened per branch, except for BPI-Acropolis where he said he only had 7 accounts, instead of 8 accounts.

2.  Corona simply said that all those accounts in BPI-Acropolis, BPI-Tandang Sora, BPI-San Francisco del Monte (except for one "mother account"), Allied Bank (except for one "mother account"), and PSBank-Katipunan (except for two accounts) have all been closed. Therefore, Corona has only 4 remaining existing accounts out of the 82 or 81 accounts that have been opened at one time or another over the period from 2003 to 2011.

3.  In effect, Corona confirmed what Ombudsman Morales presented to the impeachment court, except for the one-account discrepancy in BPI-Acropolis. This is not surprising because both Ombudsman Morales and Corona used the same data from the AMLC.

4.  While Corona confirmed (except for one account in BPI-Acropolis) the number of accounts, he only generally denied that he has between $10 million and $12 million dollars in his dollar accounts, without presenting further concrete evidence.

Clearly, Ombudsman Morales did not mislead the public.

what about yung waiver na pinirmahan nya ... na dapat mag sign din ng waiver yung 188 congressman and si Drilon?

if you would ask me, if i was one of the 188 or drilon, i will open my accounts after the impeachment. tama si drilon about corona laying a trap. it's a cheap trick that everybody seems to bite. prinsipyo pinag uusapan dito. one that corona does not have. besides, the SALN's waiver is enough. it's just up to the office of the OMB if it feels there is a need.

basahin nyo eto

Quote
MANILA, Philippines — Despite being brushed off as a publicity stunt by Senator Franklin Drilon and members of the House prosecution, three of the 188 lawmakers who signed the impeachment complaint are willing to take on Chief Justice Renato Corona’s dare to sign a waiver on their bank deposits.
Pangasinan Representative Kimi Cojuangco, ACT Teachers Representative Antonio Tinio, and Kalinga party-list Representative Abigail Faye Ferriol said that they were willing to take on Corona’s challenge, stressing that they have nothing to hide.
Even members of the minority bloc stepped up to the chief magistrate’s condition for signing his waiver.
Minority Leader Danilo Suarez, however, said they were willing to open their bank accounts if the 188 lawmakers and Drilon would do so.
Drilon and the members of the House prosecution team have already told the impeachment court that they had no plans of signing their waivers.

Chief Justice of the Republic of the Philippines!!!!!!

Because the rule is; Corona only need 6 senator/judges to side with him, for an acquittal, there's a very good chance that he will be acquitted. On the other hand, there has to be at least 16 of them to convict him. Looking at the names of the senator/judges, I can spot six right now based on some of their previous TV interviews.

Anong justice ang sinasabi nitong mga ito? Justice in political arena.
