Marami akong nababasa na nag tatanong kung paano nila maactivate ang roaming sa gamit nilang network Kaya gumawa ako nga thread ...so eto... for your reference na din..

In wireless telecommunications, roaming is a general term referring to the extension of connectivity service in a location that is different from the home location where the service was registered. Roaming ensures that the wireless device is kept connected to the network, without losing the connection. The term "roaming" originates from the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) sphere; the term "roaming" can also be applied to the CDMA technology.[1] Traditional GSM Roaming is defined (cf. GSM Association Permanent Reference Document AA.39) as the ability for a cellular customer to automatically make and receive voice calls, send and receive data, or access other services, including home data services, when travelling outside the geographical coverage area of the home network, by means of using a visited network. This can be done by using a communication terminal or else just by using the subscriber identity in the visited network. Roaming is technically supported by mobility management, authentication, authorization and billing procedures.

Selecting a network
The first thing to do once you reach a foreign country is to log on to a network. You have two options in selecting a network: Automatic or Manual.

Manual
If you wish to choose which operator to log on to, use the Manual setting by following these simple steps:

Step 1: Go to your handset's "Network Select" or "Network Search" setting and choose "Manual." (It may take a couple of seconds to complete this step.)

Step 2: Your phone will display all the available networks that you can choose from. Select the network code of your desired operator from this list. Once this is done, your handset screen will display the name of your chosen network and that means you are ready to call.

How to enjoy your Smart International Roaming Service
Roaming Service in the United States
GSM networks in North America (Canada, Mexico and the U.S.A Mexico operate on different frequencies from the rest of the world (1900MHz). If you wish to roam in these contries, use must use a compatible handset.

Friendly reminder!
Although Smart International Roaming is automatic once the requirements have been fulfilled, we still recommend that you call us before your trip to reconfirm that your IR has indeed been activated. Call the SMART Customer Care Hotline at 888-1111(landline) or *888(mobile).

Different countries use different GSM frequencies. While most countries operate on the 900 MHz and 1800 MHz, below are the countries that operate on the 1900 MHz frequency and require the use of a tri-band handset.
